Had a great interview with Louanne Hunt on the Mindset Playground. We talked about the writing process and my next book, The Healing Stones.

Gillian Andrews: Chatham, ON, Canada; Gillian Andrews combines her love of history with her desire to inspire women with her stories. Her protagonists are strong women who find themselves at pivotal moments which compel them to make difficult choices that will change their lives forever. Gillian spent two years studying writing through correspondence courses and has since taken numerous workshops, in person and online, in fiction and memoir writing. When she hit on historical fiction writing, she knew she had found her niche, though she wasn’t sure if she was capable of writing in her chosen genre because of the complexities of weaving an accurate accounting of an historical period into a story for today’s readers. When her son challenged her by saying, “So you’re not going to do it because it’s hard?” what could she do but meet the challenge. She got in touch with historical fiction author Don Gillmor and spent a morning talking about how he approaches historical fiction writing. It was the best thing she ever did for herself. Her writing has flowed after that.
